The week after winning the singles and mixed doubles titles at the WTT Contender Buenos Aires, Hugo returns to Brazil to compete in the WTT Star Contender Foz do Iguaçu. The main draw is scheduled for July 31 to August 3. Check out everything you need to know about the event:

WTT IN BRAZIL

This is the third time Brazil hosts a WTT event, the first in the Star Contender series. In 2023 and 2024, Rio de Janeiro hosted a WTT Contender. Last year, Hugo won the title with a dominant campaign, losing only one game in his five wins.

Before WTT was created, several events of the former ITTF World Tour were held in Brazil, and Hugo won two of them. In 2013, he became the youngest player ever to win a World Tour event, in Santos. Four years later, in São Paulo, he returned to the top of the podium.
