After two historic campaigns in the World Cup and the World Table Tennis Championships, Hugo returns to the international tour to compete in the WTT Star Contender Ljubljana in Slovenia. The main draw is scheduled for June 19 to 22. Here’s everything you need to know about the event:

BRAZILIANS IN LJUBLJANA

Ranked third in the world, Hugo will be the #1 seed in the men’s singles draw. He will also compete in the mixed doubles tournament alongside Bruna Takahashi, the #8 seed in the women’s draw.

The other Brazilian competing in Slovenia will be Leonardo Iizuka, who has also secured a place in the men’s main draw. Check out here the full list of participants.

COMPETITION SYSTEM

The WTT Star Contender Ljubljana will feature men’s and women’s singles events in a single-elimination system, with 48 players in each bracket. The event will also feature men’s, women’s and mixed doubles tournaments.

Matches will be played in best of 5 games until the semifinals. The final will be decided in a best of 7 games.
