Hugo’s next challenge will be the China Smash, the final event in the most important series on the international table tennis circuit in 2025. The competition will be held in Beijing from September 25 to October 5. The main draw of the tournament begins on the 28th.

GREAT MOMENT

Hugo has reached the final of six of the last seven tournaments he has played, winning four titles. The most recent was runner-up at the WTT Champions Macau. Previously, he was champion of the World Cup, WTT Star Contender Ljubljana, WTT Contender Buenos Aires, and WTT Star Contender Foz do Iguaçu, as well as runner-up at the World Championships.

BRAZILIANS IN BEIJING

Brazil will have six players in Beijing for the China Smash. Hugo will compete in the men’s singles and mixed doubles, alongside Bruna Takahashi.

COMPETITION SYSTEM

All the matches in the China Smash will take place in a single-elimination system. Singles matches will be played in best of five games until the round of 16. From the quarter-finals onwards, the matches will be best of 7 games.
