Hugo’s next event will be the WTT Champions Macao, from September 9 to 14. The competition is part of the second most important series on the international table tennis tour, only behind the Grand Smashes.

Hugo is the #4 seed in the WTT Champions Macao. The competition features 29 of the 32 best athletes in the world rankings – check out here the full list of participants.

GREAT MOMENT

Hugo comes from five finals in the last six tournaments, with four titles won. Since April, he won the ITTF World Cup, WTT Star Contender Ljubljana, WTT Contender Buenos Aires, and WTT Star Contender Foz do Iguaçu, besides being runner-up in the World Championships. In this period, he had 30 wins in 32 matches.  

BRAZILIANS IN MACAO

In addition to Hugo, the WTT Champions Macao will also feature another player from Brazil: Bruna Takahashi, ranked #18 in the world.

COMPETITION SYSTEM

The WTT Champions Macao will feature men’s and women’s singles events in a single-elimination system, with 32 players in each bracket.

Matches will be played in best of 5 games until the quarterfinals. From the semifinals onwards, the matches will be best of 7 games.
